Target Audience

This program has been designed for physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, physical therapists, and occupational therapists whose practices involve the evaluation and treatment of patients with fibromyalgia. The target audience includes both primary care providers and subspecialists in pain management, neurology, rheumatology, psychiatry, physical medicine and rehabilitation, and anesthesia. Both basic and advanced information regarding fibromyalgia will be presented.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this session, participants should be able to:

  • Discuss the evidence for rehabilitation and other nonmedical treatment strategies for fibromyalgia
  • Develop and initiate comprehensive treatment plans, including rehabilitative and other nonmedical therapies
  • Recognize that specific patient populations may require special considerations in the management of fibromyalgia

Method of Participation

There are no fees for participating in and receiving credit for this activity. The Participant will have two opportunities to a score of at least 80% to successfully complete this activity. Certificates will be mailed in approximately 6 to 8 weeks after the completion of the activity. Credit is available through November 7, 2012.
