While assessing various neuropathies and diagnosing their underyling causes, neurologists may sometimes inadequately address the pain many of these patients experience. Many patients will require multidisciplinary treatment for their neuropathic pain, a process that requires communication between caregivers to ensure that patients receive adequate analgesia, functional goals are achieved, side effects are managed, and patients comply with the management plan.
