The 2009 Albany Pain Conference covered a wide range of pain-related topics, including the molecular basis of pain and both pharmacologic and nonpharmacologic treatments for acute and chronic pain. Additional topics included women’s health issues in chronic pain and more specific insights into such pain syndromes as headache, fibromyalgia, neuropathic pain, and cancer-related pain.
