Pain & Aging: 3rd Annual Perry Fine Lecture at West Virginia University
Perry Fine, MD
Pain Research Center
University of Utah School of Medicine
Salt Lake City, Utah
As the population ages, more individuals will be living with chronic pain, resulting in increased morbidity, mortality, and healthcare utilization. Here Dr. Fine discusses important considerations when treating pain in older adults, including gradual titration of pharmacotherapy, universal precautions in older populations, and the potential for adverse drug-drug interactions.
